Fashion is taking over Romania’s capital this week as Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week returns from October 13 to 17 with its Spring/Summer 2027 edition.

The event brings Romanian and international designers to Bucharest, creating a platform for local talent while welcoming designers from countries including Italy, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland and Kazakhstan.

Beyond the runway, Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week aims to put Romanian fashion on the global map, with a mission to make "Made in Romania” a recognised name in the international fashion industry.

The event brings together designers, international buyers, media professionals and fashion institutions, creating opportunities for local talent to showcase its work and connect with the wider industry.

It also makes room for emerging talent through Next Generation, a programme supporting young Romanian designers, including fashion students and recent graduates. Through mentorship, workshops and opportunities to present their collections, participants can develop their ideas and gain exposure beyond the classroom.

This year’s programme looks beyond the traditional runway. Alongside designers presenting their latest collections, fashion shows incorporate art and performance, bringing different creative disciplines into the fashion experience.

The event is also introducing its Fashion Art Division, while the programme includes the first menswear label to appear on its calendar. These additions give audiences more ways to experience fashion, from clothing and craftsmanship to the artistic ideas behind a presentation.

Away from the runway, the programme features conversations exploring how fashion connects with art, architecture, theatre, film, music and design. Industry professionals will also discuss the business and cultural forces shaping fashion today.

A special performance by Romania’s Madrigal National Chamber Choir adds another creative element to this year’s edition, bringing classical music into a contemporary fashion setting.

Running until October 17, Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week offers a look at Romanian design alongside international talent, with a programme that brings fashion and other creative worlds together.
