Lagos is preparing for a busy end-of-year season, with fashion showcases, entertainment conferences and major music events scheduled for November and December.

Beyond the concerts and parties associated with Detty December, the city’s calendar also features opportunities for networking, learning and exploring Nigeria’s creative industries.

Here are five events to look out for in the coming weeks.

1. GTCO Fashion Weekend — November 7–8

Fashion takes centre stage when GTCO Fashion Weekend returns to Lagos on November 7 and 8.

The event will bring together designers, models, fashion entrepreneurs and style enthusiasts for runway presentations, shopping and masterclasses.

Beyond showcasing emerging and established fashion brands, the weekend offers designers and entrepreneurs opportunities to learn about the business of fashion and connect with others in the industry.

For visitors, it is also a chance to discover new labels, explore contemporary African fashion and experience one of Lagos’s major fashion gatherings.

2. NECLive 2026 — November 12

The 11th edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference, NECLive, is scheduled for November 12 at Alliance Française de Lagos, Mike Adenuga Centre.

With the theme ‘Home Advantage: Transforming Local Demand into Global Power’, the conference will examine how Nigeria can harness its domestic entertainment market to expand its international influence and commercial opportunities.

Discussions are expected to cover music, film, media, technology and other creative sectors.

The event is relevant to entertainment professionals, aspiring creatives and entrepreneurs seeking insights into the business side of the industry, as well as opportunities to network with industry stakeholders.

3. Entertainment Week Africa — November 17–22

Entertainment Week Africa will run for six days in Lagos, from November 17 to 22, under the theme ‘Closing the Gap’.

The programme will feature conversations, showcases, masterclasses and networking opportunities focused on strengthening connections between African talent and the resources, partnerships and markets needed to grow.

Its range of activities is expected to appeal to creatives across different fields, including music, film and other entertainment businesses.

Participants will have opportunities to learn from industry professionals, discover emerging talent and explore potential collaborations.

4. Davido’s ORIADÉ: The Residency — December 17–19

Davido is scheduled to perform at the National Theatre in Lagos for three nights, from December 17 to 19, as part of ORIADÉ: The Residency.

The event is billed to mark 15 years of the singer’s music career, offering fans an opportunity to experience his catalogue during the festive season.

With Nigerians in the diaspora returning home and the city’s entertainment calendar gathering momentum, the residency is set to be one of the major music attractions of December.

Fans planning to attend should check official event channels for ticketing information and any updates to the programme.

5. Wizkid’s Detty December Fest — December 18–30

Wizkid is scheduled to headline the opening concert of Detty December Fest on December 18, with the wider festival expected to run until December 30.

The event adds another major music attraction to Lagos’s festive-season calendar, giving fans an opportunity to see one of Nigeria’s most prominent international music stars perform at home.

The festival also offers visitors and residents another option when planning their December outings, as concerts and other entertainment activities take over the city.

For those looking to fill their festive-season schedule with live music and social events, it is one to watch.

From fashion and industry conferences in November to major concerts in December, Lagos has a varied calendar for the final weeks of the year.

GTCO Fashion Weekend offers a platform for fashion lovers, while NECLive and Entertainment Week Africa provide opportunities to engage with the creative industry. Davido’s residency and Wizkid’s festival appearance will then add to the music events expected during the festive period.

With demand for popular events often rising as December approaches, planning ahead and checking official channels for confirmed dates, venues and ticket details can help visitors make the most of the season.
