Shanghai Fashion Week is bringing Spring/Summer 2027 collections to the runway, with shows and fashion industry events taking place across the Chinese city from October 8 to 16, 2026.

One of Asia’s major fashion events, Shanghai Fashion Week gives local designers a platform to present new collections while connecting with international brands, buyers and fashion professionals. Its programme extends beyond runway shows to include trade fairs, exhibitions and industry events.

This season, the focus is firmly on Chinese creativity, with organisers looking to strengthen the presence of local designers in the global fashion industry.

The Spring/Summer 2027 edition features nearly 100 runway presentations and around 1,000 participating brands across its wider programme.

Chinese labels including Hemi, Xiaoli, Staffonly and Pronounce are among the names featured this season. HEMU opened the fashion week with a collection drawing inspiration from Dunhuang’s cultural heritage, incorporating traditional Chinese textiles and craftsmanship.

Other highlights include Shuting Qiu’s return to the runway and presentations from designers exploring contemporary silhouettes, textile innovation and new approaches to fashion.

International brands are also part of the wider programme, reflecting Shanghai’s growing role as a meeting point for Chinese and global fashion businesses.

Alongside the shows, trade fairs and showroom events give designers the opportunity to connect with buyers and explore commercial partnerships. The citywide programme also includes exhibitions and consumer events, bringing fashion beyond the catwalk.

As the shows continue through October 16, Shanghai Fashion Week offers a closer look at how Chinese designers are shaping the Spring/Summer 2027 season and how their work is reaching audiences beyond China.

The dates, programme and designer details are based on Shanghai Fashion Week’s published schedule and current coverage.
