Former Super Eagles captain and striker, Daniel Amokachi, has been elevated to the position of Technical Director of Finnish League side, JS Hercules. Amokachi was appointed coach of the team in January 2016, but will now work with the team in a bigger capacity.

The former Nigeria international revealed the information on his Instagram page on Wednesday.

"Excited to announce that I will be transitioning to the role of #TechnicalDirector at @jshercules #theamokachis #kakkonen #football #futbol,” Amokachi wrote.The former Everton and Besiktas star began his coaching career with Nigeria Professional Football League side Nasarawa United and later Enyimba Aba.

In April 2007, he quit his role as assistant coach of the Super Eagles, but was reappointed on 10 April 2008, as assistant coach to Shuaibu Amodu, and then as assistant to Stephen Keshi.

Amokachi in his remark explained that he will continue to help improve the standard of the team although could be able to return to television punditry.
