Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has reaffirmed his partnership with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, describing their shared aspiration for a better Nigeria as he congratulated him on his 70th birthday.
Obi, in a birthday message published on his Facebook page on Wednesday, praised Kwankwaso’s decades of public service and contributions to the country.
The former Anambra State governor described Kwankwaso as an elder brother and partner in service, saying their relationship had grown through conversations, mutual respect and a shared commitment to national development.
He noted that Kwankwaso’s career had spanned legislative duties, service on the Federal Executive Council, governorship of Kano State and national politics.
Obi said the milestone offered an opportunity to reflect on Kwankwaso’s years of service and the contributions he could still make to Nigeria’s development.
He also expressed appreciation for their partnership, highlighting their shared hope for a country where citizens have equal opportunities, families are lifted out of poverty and everyone can live with dignity and security.
Obi prayed for good health, wisdom, strength and more productive years for the former governor, expressing hope that the next chapter of his life would bring peace and fulfilment.
Kwankwaso, a prominent political figure, has served as Kano State governor and federal legislator, among other public offices.
