Politicians react as IG orders CP, officers to step aside
The Anambra election stakeholders forum meeting meant to ensure peaceful conduct of all stakeholders in the gubernatorial election has ended in a deadluck.
Some candidates expressed dissatisfaction over the decisions of the Inspector General of Police Idris Ibrahim who ordered the reshufflement of ranking officers and replacement of other officers in the state .
The IG who came was accompanied by three Commissioners of Police commanded the current serving commissioner in the state, Garba Umar to step down immediately.
He also ordered that some sensitive part of the Willie Obiano security details personel be withdrawn immediately, while warning that no candidate in the election will be allowed to many security guards.
Also speaking at the forum, the INEC chairman tasked all persons involved in the process to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner .
Obiano left the venue in anger and other politians while addressing journalists exprssed their feelings on the development.
