Two Armed Robbers Evade Stop-And-Search, Dump Bag Of Firearms, Fled Quickly On Motorbike at Police Check-Point

Two Armed Robbers approached a Police Stop-and-Search spot, dumped their bag containing firearms and fled on motorbike before the Police could search and find out what was contained in the bag in Edo State.

Searching the bag dumped by the 2 armed robbers presently on the run, operatives of the Edo State Police Command found 3 Pump Action Guns and a Military rifle.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Edo State Command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, in a statement, indicated that the two suspects were stopped during a Stop-and-Search exercise along the Auchi-Okene expressway while on a motorcycle.

According to Ikoedem, they offered money for bribery to the police officer who slowed them down to stop, but the officer refused to accept the money, then, the suspects threw away the bag in their possession and sped off. All these happened in quick secession.

The PPRO narrated that a search on the bag led to the discovery of 4 firearms and 25 live cartridges, including a battle axe, screw driver and other incriminating exhibits.

The Police have commenced manhunt For the fleeing armed robbers.
