IGP Raises Concern Over 'Misguiding' Digital Content For Children

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has raised concerns over misguiding digital content children consume. The IG urged parents and guardians to critically review what they allow their children and wards to watch online.

The IGP, receiving the Director General of the National Orientation Agency on courtesy visit, deliberated on the need to strengthen institutional collaboration; the IG noted that misinformation has been widely spread against the police. He urged citizens to always verify the authenticity of information they come across on social media.

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Lanre Issa-Onilu, shared similar concerns, saying that much of the content consumed by young Nigerians exposes them to foreign cultures, thereby neglecting the Nigerian values.
