Labour protest over wage increase
Benue State Organized Labour have staged a protest to the government house in Makurdi, to demand the state governor, Samuel Ortom, not to renege in ensuring that workers' new wage increase is implemented.

The leader, Simon Achaver,  former Benue NLC chairman and now a National officer with Labour, called on the state Governor not to join other governors hell-bent on thwarting their effort, says workers have being on the receiving end at the mercy of politicians but that this time it will not be as usual.

Comrade Achaver, said if the government refuses to shift ground on their proposed wage increase, says November, 6, deadline for total strike action stands.

Receiving the organized labour in the government house, the chief of staff to Benue state governor, Terwase Obunde, assured them to remain peaceful, adding that governor Samuel Orton will not do anything but would ensure a lasting resolution is reached for workers.
