Oriire 39: Protesters Takeover Major Roads, Obstruct Traffic In Ibadan
Protesters, on Monday, took over major roads, obstructing traffic flow in Ibadan, Oyo State. The protest degenerated into gridlock, leaving commuters stranded and having delayed journeys.
Several vehicles were forced to turn back to seek alternative routes to their destinations.
The protesters were demanding the rescue of children and teachers kidnapped from schools in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, by bandits, who have remained in the cold of the forest.
Traders were also forced to lock up their shops.
However, security operatives were deployed to clear the road and to restore order.
