INEC tasks staff on capacity building

The independent national electoral commission has stressed the need for its staff to continue to upgrade themselves on relevant training for the sound electoral system in Nigeria.


The resident electoral commissioner in Oyo state, barrister Mutiu Agboke who made the appeal in Ibadan at the opening session of a one-day capacity building for INEC staff on electoral training study cycle says the training was to refresh their memory and prepare them for the task ahead.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Agboke noted that the electoral body is not resting on its oars as several pieces of training and workshops are in place to upgrade the knowledge of officials for uptime performance.

He charged the participants to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the training stressing that all hands must be on the deck in order to improve the electoral system in Nigeria.

Also speaking on the exercise, the head of department, operations and training, Alhaji Adeniyi Ramon says the exercise would further prepare the staff of the commission and Equip them with new skills.
