Operatives of the Delta State Police Anti-Robbery Squad has launched a manhunt for suspected armed robbers, who abandoned arms, ammunition and other incriminating items at Orogun community, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

The PPRO of the Command, Edafe Bright, in a statement, indicated that the arms which include two pump action guns, three locally made pistols, two battle axes, among others, were discovered from the hideout of suspected armed robbery and kidnapping suspects through credible intelligence.

According to the police, the wanted suspects are on the wanted list of the police in connection with criminal activities within Ughelli and Warri Axis of the state.

A kidnap victim had led the police to the criminal hideout after he escaped from his abductors. He led the tactical unit of the Delta State Police Command under heavy security cover to the hideout where the items were recovered.

A search operation has begun in the forests of Orogun, as well as neighbouring Abraka, to arrest the suspects who are using the forests as a hub for their kidnapping activities.
