NCS To Tackle Smugglers, Seizes Goods Worth Over ₦110M

The Federal Operations Unit zone A of the Nigeria Customs Service has expressed readiness to tackle the activities of smugglers through aggressive patrol of all flanks and flashpoints in Lagos state.


The controller FOU, Amade Abdul who spoke with newsmen while unfolding his mandate, said they would ensure total compliance with the fiscal
policies of federal government in terms of trade.


In a renewed effort to tackle the activities of Smugglers in the country, the Federal Operations Unit of Nigeria Customs Service has apprehended eight suspects and seized commodity and goods worth several million naira.


Speaking with newsmen in Lagos, the FOU controller, Amade Abdul said they are leaving nothing to chance in combating the antics of smugglers in their areas of jurisdiction.


He said they would not derail in carrying out the primary duty of suppressing smuggling and facilitation of legitimate trade and also compliment the efforts of other Customs Command.       

  
The Controller also called for the collaboration of critical stakeholders and support from security agencies of govt as well as various communities where they operate.       


There is no doubt that Smuggling just like Scavening is a global phenomenon, but the Nigeria Customs Service has vowed to deal ruthlessly with these economic saboteurs and protect the nation's economy in line with the expectation of the federal govt.
