President Bola Tinubu has thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of incumbent Governor Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State towards the Saturday Governorship election in the state.

Vice President Kassim Shettima during the All Progressives Congress, APC, grand rally in Ado-Ekiti, for the June 20 Governorship election, conveyed the president's support to the APC and the candidate.

Addressing party supporters, APC governors, as well as the leadership of the National Assembly and state legislators, Vice President Kassim Shettima called on Ekiti people to break the second term jinx by electing incumbent Governor Abiodun Oyebanji for second term.

He commended Governor Oyebanji for his wonderful works and legacy in nation building.

The Ekiti Governorship Election is expected to hold on Saturday, June 20, with 14 candidates contesting for the exalted office in the state.
