The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has restored its Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS, after a 96-hour disruption.
JAMB said the platform became fully operational on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and urged tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes to make up for the time lost during the disruption.
The Board attributed the interruption to an administrative challenge involving its hosting organisation, adding that measures were being implemented to improve the stability and reliability of the platform.
JAMB said institutions must complete admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session within the timelines agreed at the 2026 Policy Meeting.
Public universities are expected to conclude admissions by October 31, private universities by November 30, while other tertiary institutions have until December 31, 2026.
Following the release of the 2026 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination results, JAMB also urged public universities to intensify their admission exercises.
Candidates awaiting admission were advised to promptly upload or verify their examination results on the JAMB platform.
The Board said it would expedite the consideration and approval of admission recommendations submitted by institutions through CAPS as the admission process resumes.
