A support group campaigning for President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has begun grassroots mobilisation across the state's 25 local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Global Initiative Support Group for Sheriff 2027 inaugurated its coordinators and canvassers in Ughelli on Friday, charging them to take the campaign to wards and polling units across the state.

The group said its mobilisation drive would also cover APC candidates contesting senatorial, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly seats.
Performing the inauguration on behalf of the Delta State APC Chairman, Solomon Arenyeka, the party's Delta South Senatorial Chairman, Emmanuel Amgbaduba, commended the group for establishing structures across the state and among Deltans in the diaspora.

Amgbaduba attributed the group's emergence to what he described as the performance of the Oborevwori administration, citing developments in infrastructure, healthcare and education.

He also highlighted the governor's approval of a 13th-month salary for civil servants, describing it as evidence of his administration's commitment to workers' welfare.

He urged the newly inaugurated coordinators to extend their mobilisation beyond the governor's re-election campaign to Tinubu and other APC candidates.
The APC chieftain charged members to return to their communities and engage residents at the senatorial, local government, ward and polling-unit levels.
Speaking at the event, the group's convener, Olorogun Festus Ahon, said the organisation was established by friends from across the world to mobilise support for Oborevwori's re-election and the success of other APC candidates.

Ahon, who is also the governor's Chief Press Secretary, urged members to adopt door-to-door campaigns and direct engagement with voters rather than relying solely on political meetings.

He said the group was committed to securing victory for Tinubu, Oborevwori and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Chairman of the group, Josiah Ntekume, said the inauguration was part of efforts to build a strong mobilisation network across Delta State.

He urged the coordinators and canvassers to remain united and committed to taking the group's campaign to every ward and polling unit.
The event was attended by the APC State Organising Secretary, Emmanuel Egbabor; Abel Oshevire; Ologe Elijah; the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Media, Nelson Egware; and other party leaders and stakeholders.
