Paul Ibe, a Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters has a large concentration of key positions in favour of the South-West geopolitical zone, from which President Bola Tinubu, the APC's 2027 presidential candidate, hails.

In a post on X, Atiku's aide said that, given INEC's constitutional responsibility to conduct free, fair and credible elections, Nigerians deserve a transparent explanation of this apparent imbalance and whether the appointments comply with the federal character principle.

"Electoral impartiality must not only be guaranteed; it must also be demonstrably evident," he said.

Ibe called out the chairman of INEC, Joash AMupitan, following a screenshot showing the jey positions skewed in favour of the South-West.
