The All Progressives Congress (APC) has resolved to establish reconciliation committees across the North Central to address grievances arising from recent party primaries and congresses ahead of the 2027 elections.
The APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed this after a stakeholders’ meeting involving governors, National Assembly members, ministers, party officials and other leaders from the zone.
Yilwatda said the reconciliation initiative was part of efforts to strengthen the party and ensure unity ahead of the elections.
He also announced plans for a mass mobilisation campaign in the North Central in support of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to him, the stakeholders based their decision on what they described as the Federal Government’s projects, appointments and inclusive governance in the region.
The APC chairman also expressed condolences to families of miners who died in Niger State and victims of the reported boat mishap in Guruku, Benue State.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, said the mobilisation programme would begin with a major rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday.
Akume said governors, National Assembly members and other party leaders across the zone would participate in the rally and subsequent mobilisation activities.
The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is expected to attend the rally as Special Guest of Honour, alongside the Director-General and other senior officials of the Presidential Campaign Council.
Beyond political mobilisation, the stakeholders announced plans for medical outreaches and town hall meetings across the North Central as part of the programme.
