The Immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi has called on all stakeholders within the fold of the All Progressive Congress to ensure peace as he assumes the position of the Acting Chairman of the party.

Speaking through his Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Bolaji Tunji, Ajimobi who is currently battling with Covid-19, says he took over the leadership of the party in line with section 14 subsection 3 of the APC construction.

According to the statement made available to Correspondent Kunle Ojo in Ibadan, a meeting of the national executive council of the party would be called soon to resolve all contending issues.

Ajimobi stressed that the leadership of the party under him would be fair to all and sundry calling on all stakeholders to remain calm until the NEC meets and take a firm decision.

It will be recalled that Ajimobi took over as the Deputy National Chairman of the party on March 2020 when the NWC wrote to the southwest to nominate a candidate for the vacant position of the Deputy National Chairman, South, when the position became vacant with the appointment of Otunba Niyi Adebayo as Minister.

The appointment of Ajimobi received the support of the five southwest states of Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Osun and Lagos States while Ekiti protested against the nomination.
