The African Action Congress (AAC) has unveiled a nationwide mobilisation plan for its 2027 presidential campaign, setting up structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for the Sowore–Magashi ticket.

The party announced the inauguration of the Sowore–Magashi Presidential Campaign Council in a statement dated October 9 and signed by its Acting National Chairman, Samuel Ajeigbe, and National Secretary, Oshiokhue Phillip Ikpeminoghena.

The council will be led by Abdullahi Usman as Director-General, with deputies overseeing Strategy and Political Affairs, and Diaspora and Resource Mobilisation. Juwon Sanyaolu was named secretary of the council.

The AAC also established 10 national directorates to coordinate strategy and policy, grassroots mobilisation, labour and civil society engagement, publicity and communications, digital media, data and technology, election operations, finance, legal compliance, and administration and field operations.

The structure is expected to extend from state-level teams to local government areas, wards and polling units, with volunteers, canvassers, polling agents and supporters involved in reaching voters.

The party said the new council would build on its existing digital mobilisation platform, the SOWORENOW application, rather than replace it.

“The Presidential Campaign Council is not a replacement for this digital mobilisation infrastructure; rather, it is designed to upscale, deepen and expand it,” the statement said.

According to the AAC, the campaign will combine digital tools with physical mobilisation and community-level organisation to reach voters in urban and rural areas.

The party framed the 2027 election as an opportunity to change Nigeria’s political direction, rather than simply replace the person occupying the presidency.

“The 2027 election is not merely about changing the occupant of Aso Rock; it is about changing the political direction of Nigeria,” it said.

The AAC called on Nigerians to participate in its campaign, arguing that achieving its political objectives would require involvement beyond party politicians.

“The task of taking back our country cannot be left to politicians alone; it requires the active participation of the People,” the statement added.
