Students protest incessant cultists attack

Students Of College Of Animal Health And Production, Moore Plantation, Ibadan Today Took To The Streets In A Peaceful Protest Over Incessant Attack By Suspected Cultists.


Already, five suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack on a student of the college on Thursday evening.

Academic and other activities within and around the college were disrupted as the aggrieved students took to the street to register their displeasure about the incident.

The protesters blocked all the entrance to the institution as well as entrance leading to the premises of the institute for agriculture research and training and prevented the staff from the premises.

According to the investigation, intimidation and harassment of students of the college by suspected cultists had become a regular affair with little or no effort from the management and security agencies to ensure the safety of the students.

The protest according to some students was a fall out of another attack by suspected cultists on a student's of the college on Thursday evening.

Other students and a security officer of the college appealed to the management and security agencies to come to their aid.

The public relations officer of the state police command, Oluwagbemiga Fadeyi confirmed the incident stressing that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack.

As at the time of this report normalcy has returned to the area while officers of the Oyo State security outfit, operation burst and regular policemen are on ground to ensure orderliness.
