Senate laments state of roads
The Senate has expressed concern on the increasing rate of road crashes along the Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road.
This concern was contained in a motion debated on the floor of the red chamber at Tuesday’s Plenary.
In his lead debate, the sponsor of the motion, Kaduna North Senator Suleiman Abdu expressed worry that many travelers along this axis of road are exposed to numerous risks that make them prone to road crashes.
Speaking on the motion, a cross-section of senators lamented the poor state of Nigeria highways despite huge amounts of funds it had gulped over the years as they harped on the need to check the rising incidents of road crashes and the loss of lives.
