Man kills fiancee over food

A laboratory owner in Minna Niger state, Best Origboshe has been accused of stabbing his fiancée to death after an argument which ensued between the duo.


 The deceased, identified as Bolatito is a postgraduate student of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger state.

It was reported that the suspect was a worker at a laboratory which belong to Bolatito’s father in Akure before he was sacked. The deceased had invited him over to Minna where he had established his own laboratory.

It was gathered that the fight which led to Bolatitio’s death started after Origboshe complained the food served him was too hot, a remark that did not go down well with Bolatito.

 An eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous said: “During the argument, the man started beating the girl. She rushed to the kitchen and emerged with a knife with which she injured her fiancé. The man afterwards went to a nearby store, where he bought a brand new knife which he allegedly used to stab her in the breast and in the stomach.”

 Bolatito was rushed to a hospital by a professor of the university where she was confirmed dead.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana confirmed the incidence, assuring the case is currently under investigation.
