Leaders blame herdsmen killings on governnment
Community leaders in Girei local government Area of Adamawa State have blamed the renewed terror killings perpetrated by Armed Fulani herdsmen on government insensitivity.
Manassah Nayangom chairman of the socio-cultural group of Njiya goron community Development Association disclosed this to journalists in Yola, the state capital on the recent killings by Fulani herdsmen.
Communities in Goron District of Girei local government have in recent past been besieged by sporadic attacks by suspected fulani grazers, often leaving behind scores of casualties.
Manassah Nayangom insist that suspected fulani herdsmen carried out the gruesome killings in their community and blamed government of being lukeworn and insensitive to security issues in the state.
According to him the state government set up an administrative panel last year 2016 to look into series of crises in the state and the report has since been completed and submitted to the government but nothing is done about it.
On the side of the security personnel, the police public Relations officer SP Othman Abubakar says the police is working hard to bring to book the perpetrators.
All efforts to reach to the Adamawa State information Commissioner to respond to the allegation labeled against them proof abortive as his phone was not reachable.
