Former president of Nigeria Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has promised a strong and united Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the next elections in 2019.

He gave the promise at his country home in Otuoke community of Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state, while receiving members of the PDP reconciliation committee led by the Bayelsa state governor Dr. Seriake Dickson.

Speaking on the lingering crises, the former president said steps are underway to reposition the party ahead the 2019 elections.

On the court case involving the Sheriff and Makarfi faction, he termed it as abnormal to take party issues to court, while the Bayelsa state governor and a member of the party Board Of Trustees express their views.

In attendance at the meeting was the state deputy governor as well as members of the party board of trustees as well as state house of assembly members.
