FG approves N114m for bridge construction

FG approves N114m for bridge construction

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the sum of  N114,424,225.05 for the rehabilitation of Burnt Marina Bridge and the Maintenance of Eko (Apogbon) and Ido bridges in Lagos.


Senior special assistant to the president, Mallam Garba Shehu who briefed state house correspondents after Wednesday's council meeting said thet the said amount which is in Favour of Messrs Buildwell Plant and Equipment Industries Limited, represents twelve percent of the original contract sum, thereby revising the contract sum from N957,053,316.45 to N1,071,29,541.40 with additional completion period of six months.

The seven hours council meeting ended around six o'clock and the ministers who made presentations briefed journalists.

Senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Shehu Garba conveyed council’s approval of rehabilitation of the abandoned mangu dam in Plateau state, and augmentation of the contract sum for the rehabilitation of some bridges in Lagos state among other contracts.

Minister of budget and national planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma also briefed journalists on the progress of the economic.

He said Nigeria's economy had continued its growth trajectory with agriculture and the non-oil sectors topping the growth rate.

Ministers of defence and niger delta affairs also gave their ministries scorecards on the performances of their 2018 budgets. While the minister of defence reeled out sectoral utilization of releases to them, the niger delta minister said the section five of the east-west road is now to get government attention.

 Pastor Usani also said arrangements are also on to complete the headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)
