Army intensify civil coorporation in Delta
As part of activities marking the ongoing Exercise Crocodile Smile 111 which is aimed at cementing the cordial relationship between the Nigerian Army and the civil public, the Sector one command of the Nigerian Army Operation Delta Safe have presented chairs, tables and books to primary school pupils of Etako and Oharisi, all in Ughelli South and North local government area of Delta state.
The items which waere from the 222 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, were presented by the sector commander Operation Delta Safe Colonel Alhassan Grema.
The commander who visited the tactical command headquarters of the 222 battalion at Okpare community, was received with a guard of honour by the Commanding Officer Major Moshood Yusuf before visiting the schools.
Speaking on the exercise, Colonel Grema said it is in line with the ongoing Exercise Crocodile Smile 111.
Responding after the distribution of books and chairs to the school, the chairmen of Ughelli South and North commended the military for the gesture as the commander described the reception as exceptional.
Thousands of books and hundreds of chairs and tables have been distributed to schools since the exercise started, while more are still being expected until the exercise ends next week.
