Delta Police Commissioner Convenes Security Summit On Crime Prevention
As part of measures to prevent the recent increase in criminal activities in the state, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has convened a two-day security summit.
The summit which was held at the State Police Command Headquarters, Asaba, had community leaders, local security outfits and major stakeholders in attendance.
CP Oyeniyi described the gathering as part of the command's proactive strategy to strengthen community participation, improve intelligence gathering, and enhance crime prevention across Delta state.
He described security as everyone's responsibility , saying effective crime prevention requires the collective commitment of government, security agencies, community leaders and organized association.
The Delta CP further disclosed that intelligence at his disposal indicated that some markets and ranches are being exploited by criminal elements for the sale of illicit Drugs and the committing of other unlawful activities.
