According to him, it's time for Nigerians to have confidence in the system and believe in the outcome of such .

He noted that even though the entire electoral system is still partly manual, the transmission of such arithmetic calculations is what must be well controlled and monitored.

The National Assembly passed the Electoral Act, 2022 Repeal and Re-Enactment Bill 2026, on Tuesday after intense deliberations and a dramatic division over the controversial Clause 60 on electronic transmission of election results.

Presiding Officers of the National Assembly said the signed document reflected the yearnings of Nigerians.

They said the provisions in the amended Act were carefully designed to respond to public concerns and improve the credibility of the electoral process.
