Following the rising insecurity situation across the nation, the southeast governors in their just-concluded security summit in Owerri the Imo state capital have proposed a regional security outfit code-named "Ebubu Agu" to complement the conventional security outfits that is already in place.

The communique also addressed the issue of open grazing, as the governors in the southeast unanimously placed an outright ban on it, while calling on security agencies to enforce compliance of the policy.

Security chiefs in the southeast are also assured of support by the southeast governors by way of cogent provision of equipment and logistics for maximum performance.

Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum and Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi spoke on their position.

Reading further, the chairman of the forum outlines the need for all security agencies in the zone to share among themselves intelligence for proactive action against any form of criminality.

They vow to support the federal government in the fight against insecurity in the zone and ensure that the states are kept safe for business activities to foster growth and development.
