Six persons have been confirmed dead in a ghastly motor accident involving a minibus with registration number BGT 313 XA and a tanker which occurred at Nkwelle junction on the Nteje/Onitsha expressway of Anambra State.

Confirming the sad incident over the phone to our Correspondent, the sector commander of the FRSC in the State, Andrew Kumapayi said a total of 17 persons (11 men and six women) were involved in the accident out of which six persons have been confirmed dead while 11 sustained various degrees of injuries.

The FRSC boss said the injured victims have been taken to a hospital at Ogidi while dead bodies have been deposited at the Mortuary.

He said road obstruction is being cleared to ensure a free flow of traffic.

Speaking further the road safety expert urged road users to beware of the traffic rush associated with the "ember" months and be more careful to ensure an accident-free yuletide season.
