Ekiti State Police Command says it has dismissed the police man who shot a commercial driver dead at Oye Ekiti on Tuesday.
Police Public Relations officer in the state, Alberto Adeyemi gave the information while speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti.
Adeyemi told reporters that the trigger-happy officer's action contravened the ethics of the profession.
According to him, a police man is not trained to kill but to safeguard life and property.
The PPRO who also spoke on the recent accident at Ayetoro said the police did not shield the person who drove the car that killed two persons .
He however, appealed to the residents of the town not to take laws into their hands.
