The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a 46-year-old man, Akinbolusere Kayode, popularly known as Tolufe, who was found dead in his office in Igba Town.

Kayode reportedly died on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at his office beside BOVAS Petrol Station in the town.

The police said the incident was reported by members of the public, prompting operatives from the Bolorunduro Division to visit the scene.
Two empty bottles suspected to have contained insecticide were recovered from a nearby bush during the visit.

Preliminary findings also indicated that the deceased had allegedly recorded a video before his death, in which he spoke about his personal struggles. The video has since circulated on social media.

His remains were evacuated to the State Hospital Morgue for preservation and further examination. The police said no visible marks of violence were found on his body during the initial examination.

The Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, has ordered a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances and actual cause of death.

The command urged the public to avoid speculation while investigations continue. It also encouraged people facing emotional distress or personal difficulties to seek support and assistance.
