One person has been confirmed dead while three others sustained a serious injury in a lone accident that occurred in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Sunday evening.
The accident which occurred in the Muslim area of Ibadan, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, led to confusion in the area as residents and others were seen scampering for safety.
Galaxy News learnt that the incident involved a Toyota Corolla car with the registration number, FKJ-02-DV that rammed into other pedestrians.
According to the eyewitness accounts, the driver of the vehicle was coming from Olorunsogo, facing the Muslim end of the expressway when he lost the break.
In an attempt to manoeuvre the vehicle, the driver crushed three women waiting for Lagos vehicle by the roadside. One out of the three women died on the spot while the remaining two sustained serious injuries.
It was gathered that the driver of the vehicle was also injured while another passenger was rescued unhurt.
The victims were rescued by officers of the Nigeria Police Force and other residents who rushed to the scene. They were taken to the hospital for medical attention.
