The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has treated two women injured during the Saturday flag-off event of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign in Kaduna.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the women sustained injuries at the crowded Kaduna Township Stadium, also known as Ranchers Bees Stadium, amid a large crowd.
One of the victims sustained a leg fracture and was given first aid by NEMA’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) before being evacuated to Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital for further medical attention.
The second victim, who sustained a minor injury, was treated at the venue and continued participating in the event.
The ERT, led by the Head of Operations, Halima Sulaiman, was supported by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other emergency response stakeholders deployed to the venue.
The deployment aimed to ensure emergency preparedness and prompt response to medical incidents during the gathering.
The intervention highlighted NEMA’s role in providing emergency assistance and safeguarding lives during major public events.
