The circular, dated 10 September 2026 and addressed to senior government officials, said the review was aimed at improving staff welfare and strengthening the state’s health sector.
The government said the improved remuneration was expected to boost workers’ morale, motivation, productivity and efficiency in healthcare delivery.
It, however, urged health workers to reciprocate the salary adjustment with greater commitment, professionalism and dedication to their duties.
The government also directed health personnel to observe official working hours, maintain discipline and comply with public service rules, regulations and ethical standards.
“The government appreciates the continued commitment and sacrifices of health workers and looks forward to their renewed dedication towards building a stronger, more responsive and efficient health sector in Zamfara State,” the circular stated.
Heads of ministries, departments and agencies were directed to communicate the new salary structure to affected workers and ensure its implementation.
The circular also contains revised CONHESS basic salary scales for different grades and steps, as well as new hazard allowances for clinical and non-clinical health workers.
Under the revised hazard allowance schedule, clinical health workers on salary grades one to five will receive ₦15,200, while non-clinical workers on the same grades will receive ₦14,250.
For grades six to 12, the allowance is ₦30,400 for clinical workers and ₦28,500 for non-clinical workers.
Workers in grades 13 to 15 will receive ₦32,300 as clinical health workers and ₦30,400 as non-clinical health workers.
