The United States of America says Nigeria has a lot to do to convince the world of its anti-corruption campaign.

The US Consul general to Nigeria Jeffrey Hawkins said that corruption is a general disease that is facing the entire globe.

The United States consul general to Nigeria, Jeffrey Hawkins stated that Nigeria politicians must pledge that they will ensure free, fair and credible election by shun violence before, during and after the election.

He says this during a media parley in Oshogbo, the Osun state capital. Hawkins agreed that corruption is a major challenge to most countries of the world but asked the Nigerian government to put in more efforts in order to rid the country of corrupt public officials.

On the 2015 general elections, Hawkins said the United States is committing fifteen million dollars to the elections and other aspects of governance.

He also canvassed for peaceful elections starting with the Ekiti and Osun states gubernatorial elections this year.
 
Jeffrey Hawkins and his team expected to visit political parties in the state to intimate them how united state of America concerns about a peaceful nation.
