Nigerian rapper Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, popularly known as Phyno, has released his new album, Let That Sink In, featuring seven artistes, including Seyi Vibez, Wande Coal, Fireboy DML and Jeriq.
However, the 15-track project, released on Friday, October 30, has drawn attention to the absence of Uzo Ano, his February collaboration with highlife singer Flavour, which was previously listed among the album’s tracks.
The song had appeared as the sixth track on the album’s earlier pre-release listing, with Flavour named as its featured artiste. However, it was missing from the final tracklist unveiled ahead of the release.
Other artistes featured on the project include Oxlade, Lojay and Chike, bringing together performers from different musical backgrounds.
The album opens with Ndu Ka Aku, featuring Seyi Vibez, while Wande Coal appears on Ndewo. Oxlade features on Magret, Lojay on Bom Bom, Fireboy DML on I Believe, Chike on Kryptonite, and Jeriq on Ije Enu.
The collaborations bring together different generations of Nigerian music, combining Phyno’s indigenous rap style with street-pop and melodic Afrobeats sounds.
The release also follows Phyno’s previous musical partnership with Olamide on their 2015 joint project, 2 Kings. Olamide, however, does not feature on the new album.
Despite not appearing on the new project, Olamide showed support for his longtime friend by attending the album listening party in Lagos ahead of its release.
His appearance at the event also offered a reminder that the absence of a musical collaboration does not necessarily signal a strained relationship between the two rappers.
Let That Sink In is Phyno’s first studio album since Full Time Job, released in October 2024. The new project also includes previously released songs such as Beautiful, Na Afa Nna (Freestyle), Healing, and Ask of Me Now.
