Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has endorsed human rights lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi's bid for the 2027 House of Representatives.
In an Instagram post, Davido wrote, "My other project, Pelumi Olajengbesi. 100% winning ticket."
Olajengbesi was the campaign spokesman for the re-election of Davido's uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, in the keenly contested August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
In an X post, Davido thanked Olajengbesi for his contribution to his uncle's campaign, which culminated in the governor's re-election.
Olajengbesi is seeking to represent the people of Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the green chamber.
He also serves as the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in the state.
The legal practitioner, who turned 40 in August, previously contested for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat in 2019.
He is seeking to unseat the incumbent lawmaker, Wole Oke of the All Progressives Congress, who has represented the constituency in the House of Representatives for 24 years.
Olajengbesi, an Accord Party chieftain, had said the constituency required vibrant youth representation and a departure from what he described as the recycling of old ideas.
He had pledged to provide effective representation and pursue programmes that would promote development across the constituency if elected in the 2027 general elections.
