Former Big Brother Naija housemate Dr. Munirat Lecky, popularly known as Anto, has been appointed Special Adviser on Tourism and Creative Economy to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Anto announced the appointment in an Instagram post thanking the governor and other state officials for the opportunity to continue serving Edo State.
She also thanked her chairman and the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, for their support, describing the new role as a promotion that gives her an opportunity to do more for the state.
According to Anto, the appointment comes a little over a year after she began serving in her previous capacity.
She also urged other public figures and celebrities appointed to government positions to take their responsibilities seriously and contribute meaningfully to their states' development.
Anto acknowledged that leaving the comfort of their homes to return to their states could be challenging, but encouraged them to embrace the opportunity to serve.
The former reality TV star rose to prominence after appearing on the third season of Big Brother Naija in 2018. She has since remained involved in entertainment and public service.
As she begins her new role, Anto also invited members of the public to share ideas and proposals that could contribute to the growth of Edo State’s tourism and creative economy.
