Adekunle Gold is returning to Lagos’ Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, formerly the National Theatre, on December 26, following his record-setting concert at the venue last year.

The singer announced the return on Thursday, describing the show as The Greatest Showman and telling fans, “LAGOS! WE'RE DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN!”

The announcement comes ahead of general ticket sales scheduled to open at 10am on Friday, November 6, through the event’s ticketing website. A presale is already underway for fans who registered in advance and received access codes.

However, details of ticket prices, guest performers and the format of this year’s concert were not included in the announcement.

Adekunle Gold made history at the venue on December 26, 2025, when he became the first musician to sell out its 3,560-capacity main hall. The concert sold out within five days of being announced.

At the show, he performed songs from his album Fuji and his other six albums, accompanied by a 55-piece MUSON Orchestra and his band, The 79th Element.

He was subsequently presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of the achievement.

The singer’s return marks another major concert for the venue as it seeks to establish itself as a destination for large-scale live music events following its renovation.

With last year’s concert setting a benchmark, attention will now turn to whether the December 26 show can match or surpass the previous turnout when general ticket sales begin on Friday.
