2Baba has announced November 27, 2026, as the release date for his forthcoming album, Oldest Young Man, signalling his return to the album market after a six-year break.

“The legacy continues. OLDEST YOUNG MAN drops 27.11.26. Timeless music, no expiration date,” he wrote.

The album will be his first studio project since Warriors, released in 2020, and his ninth studio album.
The announcement follows months of hints about the project, with the singer repeatedly using its title in social media posts without initially disclosing a release date.
In August, he wrote, “I've lived it, I've seen it, I'm still here. My new album, Oldest Young Man, soon come.”
On his birthday, the singer also described himself as the “forever the oldest young man”, reinforcing the theme behind the forthcoming project.
The album's release comes as 2Baba approaches three decades in the Nigerian music industry. He first gained attention in the 1990s through jingles before co-founding Plantashun Boiz with Blackface and Faze in 1996.
Following the group's success, he established a solo career with albums including Face 2 Face (2004), Grass 2 Grace (2006), The Unstoppable (2009), Away and Beyond (2012), The Ascension and Rewind, Select, Update (2015).
Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Nigerian pop, 2Baba has remained active through singles and collaborations during the six-year gap between his last album and the forthcoming release.
However, details of the new album, including its tracklist, featured artistes and lead single, are yet to be announced.
