Former Super Eagles winger Tijjani Babangida has expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Football Federation over his appointment as the Special Adviser on technical matters to Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh.

Fans are enthusiastic about Oliseh and Babangida’s collaboration as the pair also used to be teammates at Ajax Amsterdam

It was gathered that Thursday soon after picking up his appointment letter, Babangida said "it was a great honour to be considered worthy to serve his country adding that he will discharge his duties with all his heart like he did as a player."

Although, Babangida would not disclose the fInancial aspect of his appointment but feelers from the NFF secretariat revealed that the former Ajax Amsterdam star will be paid N600,000 every month.

“The job entails to serve, work, advise and guide Oliseh,” Babangida said. “We are very close friends and mates in our playing days with the national team. I think our combination with other backroom staff will see the return of the Eagles to the top.”

He revealed that Oliseh will meet with his assistant coaches and back room staff on Monday before he formally presents them to the players when the camp opens on August 17 in Abuja.
