Super Eagles and Chelsea star Victor Moses has been voted out in the ongoing 2017 CAF Team of the Year selection.
According to a poll published on CAF’s verified Twitter handle on Monday, Moses narrowly lost out to Morocco and Wydad Casablanca player Mohamed Ounnajem for the position of the best right winger in Africa in 2017.
Ounnajem got 47 per cent of the 6,030 votes cast, with Moses getting 46 per cent.In third place is Senegal and Monaco player Keita Balde who only secured seven per cent of the votes.However, Nigerian duo William Troost-Ekong of Bursaspor and Junior Ajayi of Al-Ahly, who recently got married, were voted into the 2017 CAF Team of the Year.
Troost-Ekong was voted into the defensive position, while Ajayi was voted into the best offensive midfielder position.
Up next in the voting for the 2017 CAF Team of the Year is the position for the best forward with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon/ Borussia Dortmund), Cedric Bakambu (DR Congo/Villareal) and Khaled Boutaib (Morocco/ Yeni Malatyaspor) in the running.
