Germany will be without Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala for Sunday’s Nations League meeting with Greece after both forwards suffered injuries during preparations for the international fixture.
Havertz was forced off during the first half of Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Thursday after sustaining a muscle strain.
The Arsenal forward’s injury appeared to affect his hamstring, although the German football federation did not provide a timeframe for his return.
Musiala, meanwhile, sustained a thigh injury during the warm-up before the Netherlands match and was unable to feature.
A scan confirmed that the 23-year-old Bayern Munich forward suffered a muscle tear in his thigh.
The injuries have prompted Germany coach Jurgen Klopp to make changes to his squad ahead of the Greece fixture in Augsburg.
Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Burkardt have been promoted from the second group of players initially selected as part of Germany’s 44-man squad for four international matches.
The pair will replace Havertz and Musiala for Sunday’s encounter as Germany continue their Nations League campaign.
