Police Arraign 24 Suspects In Court Over Maraban Jos Mob Killing
The Kaduna State Police Command has arraigned 24 suspects before a Chief Magistrate Court at NDA Junction, Kaduna, over the gruesome murder of a woman by a mob in Maraban Jos.
The suspects, 20 males and 4 females, face charges of criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbance, mischief, destruction of public and police property, and culpable homicide.
The arraignment followed a comprehensive investigation into the 21st June, 2026, incident, in which the victim was killed by a violent mob, after being forcibly removed from police custody.
Following the court proceedings, the State Legal Officer, CSP Martins Danjuma, briefed journalists at the court.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansur Hassan, said the Command will not relent until justice is served.
The case was mentioned and adjourned to 21st July, 2026 for further hearing.
The Kaduna State Police Command, in a statement, after the arraignment, disclosed that over 100 additional suspects remain under investigation for their alleged roles in the incident. Those found culpable will also be arraigned in court, the police said.
