The Oyo State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Ayobami Ojo; and the Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Simeon Oyeleke, have resigned their appointments.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that the two cabinet members tendered their resignation letters on Monday.

Ojo, in a resignation letter addressed to Gov. Seyi Makinde through the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to serve the state.

He described his time in the administration as a great honour, but did not state the reason for leaving the cabinet.

Similarly, Oyeleke, who submitted his resignation letter to the governor on the same day, stated that he was no longer comfortable with the working environment.

He cited an unconducive working environment and his inability to fulfil the aspirations of his people within the administration.

The former two-term member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and local government chairman thanked Makinde for his leadership, encouragement, support and the opportunity to contribute to the administration’s policies and developmental programmes.

NAN reports that a member of the State Independent Electoral Commission(OYSIEC), Mr Olugbenga Falana, also announced his resignation, minutes after the two cabinet members resigned.

Falana announced his resignation in a letter dated Nov. 2, addressed to the governor through the Chief of Staff, Mr Akinwole Akinwale.

He expressed appreciation to the governor for the opportunity to serve on the state’s electoral body, while describing his experience in the position as worthwhile.
