One of the lawmakers of the Ondo state House of Assembly, Hon Abayomi Akinruntan has joined the All progressives Congress, APC.

Hon Akinruntan who is representing Ilaje constituency 1 at the state House of Assembly cited the crisis rocking the PDP as the reason for his defection.

The lawmaker led some PDP leaders in Ilaje local government to defect to the rulling All Progressives Congress.

The senior special assistant to the governor on legislative matters, Rt. Hon. Taofeek Abdussalam said the leadership of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is what is enticing the lawmakers.

With this development, the APC membership in the Ondo state House of Assembly has increased to 11 against 15 of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that still controls the majority.
