Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has put policy in place for regular power supply towards promoting industrial growth in the state.

Accordingly, Governor Oborevwori took decisive step towards rebuilding Delta State’s industrial strength. The Governor convened a high-level strategic meeting with officials from Power Acumen Consulting Ltd (PAL) and the Nigeria Infrastructure Bank (NIB), at the Government House, Asaba. Members of the State Executive Council and key government officials also participated in the meeting.

The team was said to have presented the “Light Up and Industrialize Delta State Initiative,” a roadmap to drive industrial revival through reliable 24/7 power, improved distribution, and the development of industrial parks and key sectors, including the blue economy, across the state.

Governor Oborevwori, acknowledging the proposal, emphasized that electricity distribution remains the major challenge despite sufficient generation capacity. He directed the setting up of a joint technical team to develop an actionable roadmap.
