Serah Ibrahim, a prominent grassroots mobiliser linked to the Obidient Movement, has endorsed Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general election, in a move that could reshape her political alignment.
Ibrahim declared her support for Makinde on Wednesday at the unveiling of the Allied Peoples Movement’s presidential manifesto in Abuja, where she described the governor as the “most outstanding Nigerian on the ballot”.
The endorsement comes despite her long-standing involvement in mobilising support for former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi during the 2023 election.

Ibrahim also disclosed that she was part of the team that developed Makinde’s policy manifesto, known as the Reset Agenda, which she formally presented to Nigerians at the event.
In a post on her X account, she described her participation in the process as “both a privilege and a responsibility”.
She urged Nigerians to study the manifesto and offer their views on its four key pillars: the economy, security, education and governance.
“Please give it a read on seyimakinde.org and let’s hear your thoughts on the four pillars of the #ResetAgenda. God bless Nigeria,” she wrote.
Although her appearance and endorsement have been interpreted as support for Makinde’s presidential ambition, Ibrahim has not publicly announced her formal exit from the Obidient Movement.
Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, had previously dismissed speculation about a disagreement with Ibrahim, describing her as his daughter.
“No, Serah is my daughter. How will a father fight with his daughter? Everybody you see around me are my children, and I love and care for all of them,” he said.
